Now for another Birthday celebration, just as the Yamaha SR celebrations have passed (30th B'day) - now it is the turn of the Honda Cub. With the 50th anniversary of the Cub we just had to post something. What a milestone for any bike! The Cub is still manufactured and sold today. Well done Honda Cub - 60 million sales and going strong!

Honda press release: Honda celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Super Cub Motorcycle, TOKYO Japan July 23, 2008 -

Giddy up..... After our mid year break the time is getting away from us this month. If you didn't notice the posting in regards to the 30th anniversary celebration for the SR's 30th birthday (held on the 20th/21st of this month) well it has now been celebrated! We didn't make the trip to Japan so like everyone else we will just have to wait for the official pics of the weekends events. No doubt some nice bikes were on show.

In the mean time let's distract you all with a new clip of the week while we get our own show pics up for the Rinku land special. This feature comes from left field and has nothing to do with Cafe racers or street bikes, but it does have a lot to do with cool little race bikes that are customised to the hilt in their own special way! Cool paint, cool seats, bright colours and loud pipes = Auto Race! We are talking Japanese speedway folks. Better know as "Auto Race" (O-to Re-su)... Similar to many versions of speedway but with some surprises that only the Japanese can put together. We have been lucky enough to see the action and were hooked!

So if you like what you see so far, you are going to love the special feature we will post early next week. We will have a look at the Japanese speedway scene and will briefly touch on it's history and the modern day version. We have a few pics from in the pits, and some close ups of engines and bikes as well as links to some incredible footage.

You will see engines from HKS, JAP and Triumph as well as the latest and greatest the AR600.* For now lets warm you up with this clip of the week and remember to check back soon for the full feature and details. Until then, enjoy the clip of the week!

Turn it up, smell the fuel and enjoy....
